THE SEARCH OF UTOPIA
VENTURE INTO OUTER SPACE TO DISCOVER THE INNER SELF.
THE SEARCH FOR UTOPIA BEGINS WITH A STORY OF A COSMIC SEEKER EMBARKING ON A JOURNEY TO FAR AWAY LANDS
THE TIME HAS COME TO REDISCOVER FIRE.
The engine ignites–a spark– followed by waves of smoke. The ignition propels the ship towards the heavens with the same fire our most ancient ancestors were gifted by the sky when lightning kindled the earth before our very eyes. This was the genesis of humankind’s progress after learning to harness it, and it has led up to this journey we find ourselves on today. Finally, our hero is at the beginning of a new chapter for humanity. No longer subjected to the confines of gravity. No longer Earthbound. We are now set free, fulfilling humankind’s destiny as a spacefaring species.
LET GO OF WHO
YOU THINK ARE
AND WHERE YOU THINK YOU’RE FROM.
With his ship now leaving orbit, leaving the Earth, leaving all that he has known: the people he loved, the person he was. With a heavy heart he looks back upon the paradise planet which provided his every possible need and want. That pale blue dot from which he came and to which most return begins to shrink until it’s fully obscured by the darkness of distance.
SEEK NEW WAYS TO SEE REALITY AS IT TRULY IS.
Our cosmonaut protagonist begins to witness bizarre and beautiful objects and events one could not have previously imagined. Beyond his comprehension, beyond his reason, he is in awe of what has presented itself before our interstellar visitor. His perspective drastically shifts, as if reborn with eyes anew.
EXPLORE FURTHER, EVEN IF IT MEANS CHANGING
THE WAY YOU HAVE BEEN DOING IT ALL ALONG.
The further our explorer navigates through the endless, black sea of stars and all of its dangers and all of its beauty, the more he is bothered by questions surrounding him: What is Utopia? What does it look like? Is it supposed to be something we feel? There are infinite possibilities. New worlds and civilizations are discovered and explored, and lessons are learned and hardships are endured. It seems as though the search for a better world is a futile attempt to heal something that’s not outside of us, but within.
UTOPIA IS NOT
A PLACE, BUT
A STATE OF MIND.
Perhaps what our cosmic companion has been looking for this whole time is home. Not the place. Not the people. But the comfort of home. The feeling of home. Before giving up in frustration, he closes his eyes and breathes deeply. He finally finds himself nestled within the present moment, and this–as he feels and understands–is home. Here he finds contentment. Here he finds bliss. Here he finds oneness with the universe he once so feverishly scoured in search of for this very feeling. This is Utopia.
